Healthcare provided by the Spanish Social Security system
The purpose of Social Security healthcare is to provide medical and pharmaceutical services to workers, pensioners or their family members who reside in Spain.
We can help you arrange your healthcare in Spain, both for yourself and your immediate family. This way, you can apply for your SIP card and access Spanish public healthcare services and benefits.
European Health Insurance Card
If you have your health insurance recognized in Spain, we can request the European Health Insurance Card for your travels within Europe.
The European Health Insurance Card certifies the right of its holder to receive medically necessary health services during a temporary stay in any of the member countries of the European Union (Germany, Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Croatia, Denmark, Slovakia, Slovenia, Estonia, Finland, France, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, United Kingdom, Czech Republic, Romania, Sweden), of the European Economic Area (Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway) and Switzerland, taking into account the nature of the services and the expected duration of the stay.
The European Health Insurance Card is valid from the date of issue until the expiry date shown on it. Healthcare will be provided under the same conditions as for those insured in the country you are visiting.
