N.I.E. – Individuals

Foreigners who, due to their economic, professional or social interests, have a relationship with Spain, will be provided with a NIE for identification purposes.

A personal, unique, and sequential number, issued by the National Police Directorate, will serve as the foreigner’s identifier. While it does not authorize residency in Spain, it is essential for carrying out any transaction within the Spanish State and must appear on all documents issued or processed for the foreigner, as well as on any entries stamped in their valid passport or original national identity document.

Documentation that you will need to provide to our lawyer:

• Completed application form
• Power of attorney translated and apostilled under the
• Hague Convention in favor of our assigned lawyer to process the identification number
• Two passport-size photographs
• Copy of the original passport or national identity document certified by the Consulate
